Jindal School of Art and Architecture Student Scholarship Policy
 

1.0  Introduction
 

   Document

  1.  This document shall be called the Jindal School of Art and Architecture (JSAA) Student Scholarship Policy Document.
  2.  It shall be effective from Academic Year 2020-21
  3. The policy(s) laid out herein shall be applicable to all Undergraduate Programs at the Jindal School of Art and Architecture and shall be in force till further notice
  4. In case of a conflict between this policy and the corresponding University policy, the relevant provision(s) of the University policy will prevail

 

2.0     Types of Scholarship

                     2.1. As per O.P. Jindal Global University Guidelines, JSAA shall offer its students, University based Merit-cum-Means Scholarships – Savitri Jindal (SJ) Scholarships.


3.0    Number of Scholarships

               -  The number of Savitri Jindal (SJ) Scholarships awarded by JSAA shall be not less than 40% of the total intake per program
 

 4.0 Scholarship Amount

                4.1 - 50% of awardees shall receive scholarships of 30% of tuition fees for the year
                4.2 - 50% of the awardees shall receive scholarships of 20% of tuition fees for the year.

 

5.0 Duration of Scholarships

           5.1 All Scholarships shall be awarded on an academic year basis
           5.2 All Scholarships shall be subject to renewal based on satisfactory performance as assessed by the Scholarship Review Committee of the School
 

6.0 Scholarship Review Committee of the JSAA

           6.1 JSAA shall institute a Scholarship Review Committee that shall convene once each academic year to review, renew and/or award new scholarships
           6.2 The composition of the Scholarship Review Committee shall be as follows
         - Dean of School
         - Director Undergraduate Programs
         - Program coordinator (if any)
         - Registrar or Nominee thereof.

6.3 All decisions regarding Scholarships shall be taken prior to the beginning of each academic year and shall be conveyed by the Dean of the School to concerned students

6.4 The Scholarship Review Committee of the School shall also undertake a mid-year assessment of the scholarship award, and in case the progress of an awardee is found to be unsatisfactory, then said awardee will be notified of the same and its consequences by the Dean of the School

 
7.0    Criteria for award of Scholarships
                7.1 The following shall be the criteria for the initial award of Scholarships
               -  SJ Scholarships Form
               -  Valid Documents showing proof of Income
               -  Income criteria shall be determined by assigning weights as per OPJGU Scholarship Policy 2012.
               -  Merit Assessment shall be as per admission process of concerned JSAA program(s)
 

 8.0 Criteria for Renewal of Scholarship

        8.1 The Scholarship Review Committee of the School may renew the scholarship of a student upon assessment

        8.2 The minimum condition for renewal of Scholarship is the maintenance of a CGPA of 6.5 in the academic year of award of Scholarship

 9.0 Termination of Scholarships

    9.1 The following are the grounds for termination of scholarship by the Scholarship Review Committee of the School
    9.1.1 Student does not maintain CGPA required for renewal of Scholarship
    9.1.2 Student has failed to maintain minimum attendance as specified by the Academic Regulations of the University
    9.1.3 Student has been found to be guilty of using unfair means and /or plagiarism in any examinations and/or assessment by the Concerned Committee of the School
    9.1.4 Student has been found to be guilty of violating the Student Code of Conduct by the University Disciplinary Committee

 10.0 Reinstatement of Scholarships

        10.1 A Scholarship that has been terminated under section 9 of this policy document may be reinstated based on the recommendation of a three- member committee comprising the Dean of the School, the Registrar, and the Vice-Chancellor
         10.2 The Dean of the School shall make the appropriate recommendation to the Vice-Chancellor
         10.3 The final authority for reinstatement of the Scholarship rests with the Vice-Chancellor
