Jindal Global University has an international orientation, it has one of the highest percentages of international faculty, and a significant proportion of faculty have international postgraduate qualifications.
As a QS ranked university granted Institution of Eminence status, international teaching and research is a priority for JGU and JSAA. Intensive study through travel to other locations has always been an important part of design and architectural education, and our programs are designed to enhance understanding of the wider contexts of design processes. JSAA students in all degree programs are eligible for our short-term study abroad programs, which are normally offered in the term breaks.
We have organized short-term study abroad programs for JSAA students with JSAA faculty to commence in 2021-2022+ in London, Chicago, and Istanbul for current future student. These intensive study trips include customized independent and group learning organized throughout the city, drawing upon our international faculty's expertise and deep connections there.
- The LONDON trip (June 2021) led by faculty experts includes seminars with architecture and related programs at University College London, and visits to key buildings, museums, plus select firms in this design capital.
- The Chicago trip (2021/2022) led by faculty experts led by faculty experts includes seminars with design programs at Illinois Institute of Technology, The School of the Art Institute, and expert tours of Mies and FL Wright buildings, museums, plus select firms in the city that invented modern architecture.
- The Istanbul trip (2021/2022) includes seminars with architecture programs at Istanbul Technical University and visits to key buildings, museums, and select firms in this historic city.
Participation in these programs is selective and competitive, and will involve advanced preparation work with the JSAA faculty and the JGU International Office. For each student, an independent investigative design or research project will carry out through the organized intensive study trips.
NOTE: Due to the COVId-19 situation, the planned June 2020 study abroad trip to London has been postponed until June 2021.
